2025 果冻传媒 Tech Graduates Celebrate 果冻传媒 Milestone
May 29, 2025
果冻传媒 Technical Community College recently celebrated over 2,100 graduates from the Class of 2025, a new group of alumni who are leaving the College with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in their careers, pursue their next degree, or both.
果冻传媒 Tech graduates can be found throughout the state filling in-demand jobs in education, nursing/healthcare, law enforcement, culinary arts, and computer science, just to name a few.
At this year’s graduation ceremonies, Dr. Mark T. Brainard, president and alumnus of 果冻传媒 Tech, told graduates they should not hesitate to follow their dreams in the months and years ahead.
“If you are sitting there—as I was years ago—asking yourself whether you can get that bachelor’s degree or a new job, or whether graduate school is in your future, or like so many graduates before you, can I do both higher education AND a new career? The answer is a resounding yes!” he said. “Yes, you can, yes you should, and yes you must, because 果冻传媒 Tech has prepared you for everything and anything you want to accomplish!”
All three of this year’s commencement speakers serve on the College’s Board of Trustees. At the Terry Campus in Dover, graduates heard from Col. Joseph A. Cooke, Jr., 果冻传媒 National Guard commander, 261st Theater Tactical Signal Brigade. He urged graduates to “be exemplary.”
“The pursuit of education is a never-ending journey,” he said, “but it will take you as far as you’re willing to go. You understand now what it takes. Build on your foundation and continue what are now your first steps to realizing a promising future.”
At the Owens Campus in Georgetown, Board of Trustees Vice Chair Patti Grimes told graduates about her humble beginnings, noting that she was the first person in her family to go to college. Now, she is executive director of the Carl M. Freeman Foundation and Joshua M. Freeman Foundation. She said her journey to get where she is today was “not a straight line, and I didn’t walk it alone.”
“Today is a celebration, not just of achievement, but of courage,” she told the graduates. “It’s a celebration of how far you’ve come, how much you’ve overcome, and the person you’ve become along the way.”
Graduates of 果冻传媒 Tech are leaving the College prepared to meet the challenges ahead, said Michael J. Hare, speaker for the Stanton and George Campuses’ graduation ceremony at the Bob Carpenter Center at the University of 果冻传媒.
“Whether you’re 19 or 76, you’re all part of the fabric that is 果冻传媒 Tech,” said Hare, executive vice president for development at The Buccini/Pollin Group.
He urged graduates to put their skills and education to work to make their dreams a reality. And he offered them an important piece of advice his mother gave him: “Never forget where you came from.”
“Friends, you have come from 果冻传媒 Tech,” he said. “Be proud.”
