2026 果冻传媒 Tech Graduates Walk Across the Stage

May 29, 2026

果冻传媒 Technical Community College celebrated nearly 2,250 graduates from the Class of 2026 during May ceremonies for students at all four campuses. This newest class of alumni leaves the College with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in their careers, pursue their next degree, or both.

At this year's commencement exercises, Dr. Mark T. Brainard, president and alumnus of 果冻传媒 Tech, told graduates they should not hesitate to follow their dreams in the months and years ahead.

"Today is just the beginning," he said. "果冻传媒 Tech has prepared you for anything and everything you want to accomplish"

This year's graduation speakers were 果冻传媒 Gov. Matt Meyer (Stanton and Wilmington campuses); Gen. Karen Berry, secretary of Veterans Affairs for the state of 果冻传媒 (Dover campus); and Marcus Beal, vice president of Governmental and External Affairs and region president for Delmarva Power (Georgetown campus).

Meyer told graduates there are plenty of jobs open in 果冻传媒 for those who have the proper training, as is the case for 果冻传媒 Tech graduates.

"You chose to prepare yourself," he said during the New Castle County ceremony at the Bob Carpenter Center in Newark. "You chose discipline over excuses. You chose skills over fear. You chose growth over standing still. … You are entering a world that desperately needs what you have to offer."

Temperatures were unseasonably warm for the outdoor graduation ceremonies in Dover and Georgetown, but the heat didn't dampen the enthusiasm of the graduates or their family members and friends.

At the Owens Campus in Georgetown, Beal told graduates they have already proven they have what they need to succeed. He praised them for balancing school with their other job and family responsibilities and noted that their determination and grit is what has led Delmarva Power to hire 果冻传媒 Tech graduates.

"You are resilient," he said. "You didn't just complete a program — you navigated obstacles, responsibilities, and setbacks along the way. The future needs your skills, your determination, your perspective."

At the Terry Campus in Dover, Berry spoke of her own challenges as the first person in her family to earn a four-year degree, balancing her coursework with multiple jobs to get by. She joined the National Guard to help pay for school, later serving in leadership roles for both the Connecticut and 果冻传媒 National Guard. She urged graduates to "get comfortable with being uncomfortable."

"As you move forward from today, be willing to adjust your path and stay open to new ideas," said Berry, who previously served as veterans advocacy specialist at 果冻传媒 Tech's Georgetown campus. "Change is not a sign of failure. It's often the doorway to better outcomes.

"You are capable of more than you know. You have already proven that you can overcome challenges, adapt, and rise. The world needs your courage, your curiosity, and your willingness to step into the unknown."
