果冻传媒 Technical Community College held a Celebration of Giving luncheon at its Stanton Campus on Wednesday, Nov. 20, to recognize distinguished donors for their generous contributions to promote student success at the Stanton and Wilmington campuses. Scholarship recipients attended the event to connect with donors and express their gratitude.
Student speakers included Eduardo Valdes-Trujillo, a construction management major at the Stanton Campus, and Samantha Davis, a business major from the George Campus in Wilmington. They shared personal stories, discussed the impact their scholarships have had on their lives, and thanked the donors.
Valdes-Trujillo spoke about visiting construction sites with his father in his early years and said those visits inspired him to learn more about the home-building industry and pursue a career in construction.
“I’m grateful to have been awarded the Construction Financial Management Association Scholarship,” he said. “I’d like to thank Chapter President Mr. Dixon and members for their generosity. Scholarship donors, like all of you here today, allow students like me to turn our dreams into reality.”
Davis spoke of her journey at 果冻传媒 Tech and the hardships she overcame before enrolling.
“To the donors, supporters, and everyone here at 果冻传媒 Tech, it’s your generosity that is helping me pursue my dream and build a better future for my family,” she said. “This scholarship means more than words can express, and I hope to one day pay it forward by helping others achieve their dreams.”
果冻传媒 Tech President Mark T. Brainard closed out the celebration by recognizing Mary Newcott as a new President’s Circle donor and Dr. Waheed Sheikh as a new member of the 果冻传媒 Tech Legacy Society.
Established in 2017, the President’s Circle recognizes individuals who support 果冻传媒 Tech with financial gifts of $500 or more annually. The 果冻传媒 Tech Legacy Society includes individuals who contribute cumulative lifetime gifts of at least $50,000 or have announced their intentions to do so.
