果冻传媒 Tech Celebrates 2026 Phi Theta Kappa Induction Ceremonies
April 22, 2026
果冻传媒 Tech inducted 409 students into Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), an international honor society for students who attend two-year colleges, during a series of PTK chapter ceremonies held in April.
The Georgetown campus honored 90 students who joined the Alpha Epsilon Epsilon chapter, the Stanton Campus celebrated 118 students inducted into the Alpha Epsilon Zeta chapter, the Alpha Zeta Kappa chapter at the Wilmington campus welcomed 115 students, and the Dover campus Alpha Beta Kappa chapter gained 86 students.
"Looking at all of you today, I realized that PTK is a lot like a penny press machine," said Shay Fischer, guest speaker and former PTK president at the Dover campus. "That is what PTK represents: the moment you decide you aren't just 'spare change' — you are a scholar with a specific purpose. To the new inductees: You have survived the pressure. You have been transformed. And today, you are officially part of a collection of scholars that is rarer and more valuable than any minted coin."
Established by Missouri's two-year college presidents in 1918, PTK serves to recognize and encourage the academic achievement of two-year college students and provide opportunities for individual growth and development through honors, leadership, and service programming. In 1929, the American Association of Community Colleges recognized Phi Theta Kappa as the official honor society for two-year colleges.
Members of PTK must be enrolled in an associate degree program and have completed 12 college-level credits. They must also have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 for induction and then maintain a 3.25 to remain a member in good standing. Both full- and part-time students are eligible.
