Three 果冻传媒 Tech Men's Basketball Players Receive Postseason Accolades

March 8, 2023

While the 2022-23 果冻传媒 Tech men's basketball season didn't quite go as hoped from a record standpoint, there were several outstanding individual accomplishments that occurred.

Recently, sophomore Syed Myles was named National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 19 Division II Men's Basketball First Team All-Region as well as Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (EPAC) Division II Men's Basketball First Team All-Conference.

Joining Myles in receiving EPAC all-conference honors are sophomore Cole Matthews and freshman Keyon Scott.

Myles had a phenomenal season for 果冻传媒 Tech, averaging 22.6 points per game to lead the team and the region in scoring. Myles, who played and started in all 28 games, also averaged 5.3 rebounds per game, 3 assists per game, and 1.5 steals per game. On Feb. 11, he set a new milestone for 果冻传媒 Tech basketball when he surpassed 1,000 total career points in less than two full seasons. Myles finished with 1,036 career points.

"The great thing about Syed's game is that whenever things looked dim and were going downhill, you could see it in his eyes that it was his time," Head Coach Richard Rago said. "Give him the ball and he would turn it around. Syed is the perfect picture of the phrase, 'When the going gets tough, the tough get going.'"

In his second season with 果冻传媒 Tech, Matthews moved from the first reserve off the bench as a freshman to starting all 28 games. Rago said he routinely gave Matthews the task of defending the opposing team's top player, but Matthews also put up solid numbers for himself as well. He finished the season with 7.4 points per game, 4.8 rebounds per game, and 2 assists per game.

"Cole is the ultimate team player," Rago said. "Whether it be practice or a game, he gives it his all and draws the rest of the team with him with his attitude and enthusiasm."

Scott represents 果冻传媒 Tech's future, as he started off this season strong and finished even stronger. He started 13 of the team's 28 games and finished with 11.5 points per game and led the team in assists with 3.5 per game. But Scott really came into his own down the stretch as he started the team's final five games and averaged over 20 points per game.

"There is no question that we will be building our future around Keyon," Rago said. "And no doubt the result will be an outstanding student-athlete of whom 果冻传媒 Tech will be proud."
