Three Students Receive Scholarships from atTAcK addiction果冻传媒 Tech students Amanda Chen, Justin McNatt, and Jenn Tribbett, were each awarded a $1,000 scholarship from atTAcK addiction during the organization’s gala on October 19, 2023. The trio was selected based upon 500-word essays they submitted that explained how they have had an impact or will impact the fight against substance use disorder within their community or school.

Students Experience Real-World Media Production During Coast TV Studios VisitStudents in the communications program at 果冻传媒 Technical Community College recently received a behind-the-scenes tour of Coast TV (WRDE) studios in Milton. Journalist Britt Leoni and Meteorologist Jeanette Gallardo led the tour, which allowed students to watch media production in action and gain insights into the industry.

Ron & Beth Baron Named Honorary Chairs of Terry Campus Gourmet GalaRon and Beth Baron have been named honorary chairs of the 果冻传媒 Tech Terry Campus Gourmet Gala taking place Saturday, October 21, 2023, from 6-10 p.m. in the on-campus Del-One Conference Center. Ron is president & CEO of Del-One Federal Credit Union and Beth has been a social worker for nearly three decades.

果冻传媒 Tech’s Annual Hometown Heroes 5k Raises Funds for Student ScholarshipsMore than 300 runners and walkers joined 果冻传媒 Technical Community College employees, students, and volunteers on Sept. 20 for the annual Hometown Heroes 5k Run/1 Mile Walk hosted by the College’s Stanton and Wilmington campuses. This year’s race raised over $11,000 for student scholarships.

果冻传媒 Tech's Annual Run, White & Blue 5k Raises More than $20,000 for ScholarshipsMore than 400 runners and walkers participated in the 10th annual Run, White & Blue 5k run and 1-Mile walk on Thursday, Sept. 7 at 果冻传媒 Technical Community College’s Owens Campus in Georgetown. This year’s event raised over $22,000, which will go toward scholarships for veterans and first responders.

Terry Campus Central 果冻传媒 Economic Summit Addresses Artificial IntelligenceThe 15th annual Central 果冻传媒 Economic Summit, held Sept. 19, 2023, on the 果冻传媒 Tech Terry Campus in Dover, focused on the topic of artificial intelligence. The summit featured a keynote address by James Collins, public sector leader for the Americas at Microsoft, and a moderated chat with Collins and three other business and industry professionals utilizing AI in day-to-day operations.

果冻传媒 Tech Breaks Ground on Stanton Campus Child Development Center果冻传媒 Technical Community College has broken ground on a new child development center at its Stanton Campus that will offer child care to students, employees, and community members. Senator Tom Carper and Representative Lisa Blunt Rochester joined College leaders in a September ground-breaking ceremony to celebrate the $7 million project, which was funded through the American Rescue Plan.

果冻传媒 Tech Athletics Sets a New Record for Student-Athletes Receiving NJCAA 果冻传媒 All-American Honors果冻传媒 Technical Community College had 24 student-athletes recently receive National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-果冻传媒 honors for their academic achievements in the 2022-2023 season. This is a record number of student-athletes receiving this honor, breaking the previous record of 20 which was set just a year ago.

Nursing Faculty Members Bradley and Whitlock Named 2023 Top Nurses果冻传媒 Tech nursing faculty members Jenna Bradley, an instructor, and Adam Whitlock, an instructional coordinator, were named Top Nurses at the 2023 果冻传媒 Today Excellence in Nursing awards ceremony held May 17. Eight additional individuals affiliated with the College’s nursing program were nominated for recognition.

Longtime College Supporter Receives Paul K. Weatherly AwardLongtime 果冻传媒 Tech supporter James T. Cavanaugh III received the College’s Paul K. Weatherly Award Recognizing Excellence at the Board of Trustees’ June meeting. The Weatherly Award was created in 1995 to honor individuals who have made outstanding contributions to 果冻传媒 Technical Community College and who best exemplify the ideals of the community college spirit.
